Becoming a Licensed Family Child Care
To Obtain a FCC License, Applicants Are Required To:
- Complete a Family Child Care Orientation either online or in person
- Submit a completed Family Child Care Application Packet
- Submit TB test results for every adult that lives in the home
- Providers and any volunteer in the family child care home must show proof of immunization against pertussis and measles
- Complete an online Mandated Reporter Training
- Have a functional fire extinguisher (2A, 10B:C rated) and working smoke detector(s)
- Notify landlord (if renting a house or apartment) or show proof of home ownership
- Complete 16 hours of CPR, Pediatric First Aid & preventative health practice training
- Receive background clearance for every adult residing in the home through fingerprint process
- Have a home safety review visit with CCCLD to ensure home meets safety requirements
Summary of Costs:
Orientation: $25 – $27 Application fee: $73
TB Test: $10 – $20 per adult Fingerprinting (Live Scan): $54 per adult
Health & Safety classes: $25 – $100 (reimbursement provided as funding is available)
